Evangelism in the Portuguese Context

Less than 1% of the Portuguese population is involved in an evangelical church.  We (us personally and our teammates) realize the weight of this sobering statistic and greatly desire to reach out and share Christ with those who don’t have a real and personal relationship with Him.

Working alongside out host church, the Igreja de Cristo/Crista, we also desire to help equip and train other believers to share the hope they have with their friends and family.

With this in mind, on November 5th our team organized a one day conference focused on learning about evangelism in the Portuguese context.  We invited two speakers to talk and teach about Portuguese culture and how to evangelize in a way that is meaningful and culturally appropriate.

33 people from 3 churches participated.  God be praised, it was a great day!   We look forward to doing this again.  There is so much we can learn about how to share the Good News in a way that is meaningful and culturally relevant.

To God be the glory and may His Kingdom grow!
