Leadership Christmas Party

Something very important to our team is to build unity with church leadership.

Each month we meet with the church leadership to discuss church business and make sure everyone is on the same page.  Rarely however, due to varying schedules and life activities, are we able to simply have a time of fellowship . . .a time to build friendships…a time together when church business is not discussed…

We think having fun together is also important, and so, for the second year in a row we hosted the leadership for a Christmas get-together; a time for fun, food, and fellowship.

Last year, in 2015, we hosted the church leadership and had a cookie decorating competition.  This year we had a larger crowd because we also invited the potential future leaders: those who are studying with us to see if God is calling them into leadership.  This year we did not decorate cookies but we did a very Portuguese activity…tile painting.  We also got to celebrate a birthday.

Not everyone was able to come, but many did, and we had a great time!

Adult Bible Class

Throughout the months of October and November, the adult Sunday School hour at our host church in Carcavelos focused on ways to share the Good News of Jesus.  How do we do this at work, in our neighborhoods, with friends and with family?  What are meaningful ways to help others come to have a personal relationship with Jesus?

I was amazed at how many people attended the classes.  Each week we had 15 to 20 people regularly participate.  That may not sound like many to you, but here, where so few people attend any church regularly and less than 1% of the population is involved in an Evangelical church, 15 to 20 people coming early to participate, talk, comment and share ideas was FANTASTIC!  God be praised.

Please pray this group of believers will be the light of Christ where they live, work, and play.  Pray people would see Christ at work in all of us and want to know more!
